How excited should we be over a new boot? We questioned that after seeing early news on the Palm Gradient 3.0 boot, but now its landed, the excitement was clearly well founded.

Time and effort, and a lot of both, have gone into creating this game changing boot.

 

In fact, Palm have invested over two years of development and strenuous testing, the Gradient 3.0 is crafted with every single part of the boot designed specifically for water performance.

 

Featuring a custom Vibram sole made from ultra-sticky Idrogrip rubber, its traction lugs provide secure footing whether you’re ascending, descending, or running.

 

 

Heel comfort, extra padding and stability comes from the dual-density foam midsole, while denser foam in the forefoot gives you control in almost any environment so you can trust the boot if you are on the move, on the bank, or in your boat.

 

Another design feature that shows the thought and care comes in the shape of the durable upper section which utilises a neoprene cuff to keep out debris, and the spacious toe box with a removable insole offers room for winter socks when you need it.

 

Palms team collaborating with footwear designer Mike Boston and the Vibram team, and team athlete Bren Orton was instrumental in shaping the Gradient 3.0.

 

From concept to countless hours of testing and design, Bren’s input brought this product to life.

 

The vibrant Sherbet+Turquoise colour way was inspired by Bren’s artwork of a waterfall along with one of his favourite movies.

 

 

This personal touch makes this Gradient 3.0 more than a river shoe—it’s a realisation of Bren’s vision, bold and unmistakably stylish.

 

In a heartfelt tribute to Bren, who tragically passed away in May 2024, a portion of each sale supports a cause close to his family and legacy.
