Who are GUL?

 

For 50 years, GUL has led watersports technical development and remains the largest UK-based performance apparel company. Founded in 1967 by Dennis Cross, a passionate surfer, GUL's mission has always been simple: to make the best products possible and support athletes at every level.

 

Frustrated by the cold Atlantic waters, Dennis designed the first purpose-built wetsuit for surfers, crafting the initial two-piece model in his camper at Fistral Beach, Newquay.

 

By the early 1970s, GUL had introduced the groundbreaking one-piece wetsuit, known as "The Steamer" due to the steam released when removing it on cold days—a term still used today.

 

Expanding throughout the 1980s, GUL began supplying watersports markets in Europe and beyond. In the late 1990s, GUL entered the dinghy sailing market, launching buoyancy aids, drysuits, spray tops, and all-purpose boots, evolving into a comprehensive range of sailing products.

Another of the Recore range, the Recore Yulex® Eco wetsuits are crafted from natural rubber foam and laminated with Recore FX, offering exceptional performance and sustainability.

G FORCE

 

Introducing the new G Force wetsuit—designed and constructed to get everyone into the water with ease.

 

Building on the success of the popular G Force series, this wetsuit has undergone a complete transformation, featuring improved materials and the latest neoprene technology for a fresh, modern look.

 

The 3mm G Force wetsuit is constructed with flatlock seams, ensuring a flexible and comfortable feel. Made from GUL's X-Flex neoprene, it remains light and super stretchy, reducing bulk and allowing free movement.

 

A layer of GUL’s Titanium II helps retain body heat, keeping you warm and toasty. Durable D-Flex neoprene areas and PowerTex knees provide impact absorption and body protection. The back-zip entry ensures easy access.

WHAT YOU CAN FIND INSIDE GUL WETSUITS

1. LAVA RIPSTOP

 

10% lighter than X-flex neoprene and more hydrophobic.

It’s hydrophobic properties absorbs less water, providing superior warmth and durability.

 

2. RECORE FX:LITE

 

The latest evolution of GUL’s recycled lami- nates, turning waste into reusable yarns! Now with over 150% + stretch, and 10% lighter,

the tighter weaved recycled textile provides less water absorption, better durability, and maximum stretch.

 

3. RECORE X-FLEX

 

GUL’s tried and tested X-FLEX 150% stretch neoprene, just got greener! Introudcing RECORE X-FLEX, made from recycled nylon by turning waste into reusable yarns, without sacrificing the softer, comfortable feel of GUL’s renowned X-FLEX.

 

4. X-FLEX

 

150% stretch neoprene is used in our high per- formance wetsuits. The latest X-FLEX neoprene is 10% lighter, absorbs less water and has a softer, more comfortable feel.

 

5. D-FLEX

 

50% stretch neoprene. Flexible, warm, durable neoprene allowing you to perform for longer.

 

6. POWERTEX 4

Four way stretch high specification knee panels designed to resist the most harsh elements while providing maximum flexion and extension of the knee.

 

1. LAVA TAPE

 

Lava Flow Tape is as fluid as lava, that stretches with your body and provides extra waterproofing to the seam and adds additional reinforcement.

 

2. BLINDSTITCH

 

Panels are double glued and then butted together followed by stitching that does not penetrate all the way through the neoprene. Inside the wetsuit, heat welded tape goes over the seams in high stress areas, this further strengthens the seams.

 

3. FLATLOCK

 

Neoprene is lapped together and then stitched, this creates a flat, flexible and comfortable seam. Flatlock stitching can be identified by a band of interlocked thread on both sides of the wetsuit, sometimes utilising a coloured thread for visual effect.

 

4. LIQUIDSEAM

 

Panels are glued and blindstitched. The seam is then sealed using a coloured liquid silicon based urethane which reinforces the seam giving each suit a 100% water seal.

 

5. G-TAPE

 

Inner waterproof X-Flex taping fuses seams together for additional reinforcement.

The tape creates an even better seal that keeps warmth in and water out.

 

6. TWIN-BLINDSTITCH

 

Panels are double glued and then butted together followed by stitching that does not penetrate all the way through the neoprene, from both the top and bottom face, creating the strongest, durable, long-lasting seam for maximum product lfie.

2. BOLTDRY-X

 

GUL’s exclusive fast drying neoprene. The ultra quick-dry core wicks water away from the skin creating a cushion of air between the body and suit, giving immense insulation and warmth.

Inner neoprene lining with performance and environmental benefits.

A blend of bamboo charcoal fibers and polyester fibers provides excellent thermal & moisture regulation- With superior absorption & deodor- izing ability due to the highly porous structure of the bamboo fabric.

 

 

4. THERMOSPAN

 

Engineered so that your core body temperature locks in the heat. By wicking away your body moisture the lightweight thermal insulation traps warm air all around you. Keeping your core body warm helping blood to pump around your body creating your own central heating system.

 

5. X-FLEX THERMAL

 

Combines the performance of X-Flex neoprene with lightweight thermal insulating lining Thermospan. The benefits of combining these technologies create a 10% lighter wetsuit with increase thermal properties.

Revo Fit has been created using innovative pattern cutting technology producing our finest fitting wetsuits. This 3D fit results in a higher level of comfort and has been improved through intensive team rider testing.

 

2. MESH

 

Optimum core wind chill protection by absorbing solar heat and reducing evaporative cooling.

 

3. TITANIUM 2

 

Used in the main body panels of most of our wetsuits. T2 Neoprene acts in a similar way to a survival blanket, and reflects body heat back to the body.

 

4. G-TAPE

5. AERO-COMB

1. QUADRATE

 

This horizontal bib front entry system contains a micro blackout low pro- file waterproof chest zip. The glide-skin seals and the concealed bungee cord keeps water out. Eradicating the back zip gives extra stretch to the back of the suit. A snap-lock ensures that the zip pull stays in place.

 

2. ABS

 

This diagonal zip entry system, has a single sided opening reducing flush. The glide-skin seal and bungee cord / barrel lock keeps more water out. A snap lock ensures that the zip pull stays in place.

 

3. S-LOCK

 

This easy entry back zip system contains a blackout waterproof zip. The zip is concealed by a unique twin flap smooth-skin seal creating a flush barrier without the bulk of the UBS system.
